Drs. Emily and Michael Arsenault created Dermatology Specialists in 2003. Since its inception, Michael Arsenault, MD ("Dr. Mike") immediately stepped into a leadership role focused on guiding our Practice toward unsurpassed quality, efficiency and style.
Dr. Mike also completed the prestigious Honors Program in Medicine at the University of Miami, where he met Dr. Emily. After achieving his Doctorate in Medicine, Dr. Mike then went on to complete a medical internship and Adult Psychiatry training at Brown University.
After attaining Board Certification in Psychiatry in 2003, Dr. Mike worked for several years at a Sarasota mental health center and within his own private practice. By 2006 Dr. Emily's reputation for exceptional care led to incredible demand and exponential growth of the practice. She asked Dr. Mike to put his clinical responsibilities on hold to formally join Dermatology Specialists as the Practice Administrator and Chief Executive Officer.
In his capacity as our Practice Administrator, Dr. Mike focuses all of his attention on the growth and development of our practice. Dr. Mike's specialized skill set paved the way for our practice to expand within the Lakewood Ranch and Sarasota communities. Dr. Mike also spearheaded initiatives including the implementation of the practice's Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System, the purchase, design and construction of our state-of-the-art Lakewood Ranch facility, as well as implementation of Dermatology Specialists superlative business architecture.
Best of all, with two, married physician-owners working together, Dr. Mike is able to make his most significant contribution to Dermatology Specialists: freeing Dr. Emily from the business elements of the Practice, allowing her to fully focus her energies on treating patients and ensuring every patient receives thoughtful and individualized care.
